Md. Samrat Hossain is a young researcher in the field of Environmental Science and has been working as a Research Associate in Environment and Climate Change Division since November 2023. He completed his B.Sc. in Environmental Science and Resource Management from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University and MS in Environmental Science from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University. His research areas include Microplastic pollution in freshwater and marine water environment (water, sediment and fish) as well as terrestrial soil, heavy metal contamination in water, sediment, soil and plants, air pollution, wastewater treatment, arsenic-iron removal unit, soil carbon sequestration etc. During his academic and professional career, he attended in various research conferences, workshop, seminar and completed numerous training on related subject and worked on several research projects. He was a join convenor of Green Club, MBSTU constituted by DoE and sports secretary of a voluntary environmental organization, namely Raising Awareness for Conserving Nature (RACE) and member of BADHAN a voluntary blood donation society of MBSTU.
