Md. Jasim Uddin Ferdous, a reputed development expert, is associated with Bangladesh Institute of Social Research (BISR) Trust as an honorable Trustee. He obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Development Planning Techniques from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Netherlands in 1997. He completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Jahangirnagar, Bangladesh. Mr. Ferdous has 23 years of experience with multiple organizations. His areas of expertise and interests cover research, monitoring and evaluation, project planning and design, project management, NGO capacity building, entrepreneurship development, program planning, impact studies, geographic information system development, etc.
Mr. Ferdous served as a Director – Project Management in Developing Midwives Project of James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. He served as a Project Manager on IKEBMI/GREEN Brick Project with UNDP Bangladesh from 2013 to 2015. He served as Director - Programme Development and Research of an EU funded project “Small Initiatives by Local Innovative NGOs: SMILING” with PRIP Trust. He was associated with PRIP Trust from 2008 to 2013. He started his career with RDRS Bangladesh and served for over 15 years in various capacities, particularly in line with management, coordination, advocacy, research, monitoring, and evaluation. He headed the North Bengal Institute of RDRS for several years and was in the lead of RDRS’ Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Unit for about a decade. He performed as an Economic Sector Specialist and supported RDRS in developing policies, project proposals, plans, studies, and special reports concerning economic interventions from 1993 to 1998.
Mr. Ferdous served as a Lead Facilitator of the Preliminary Assessment of the Scope and Extent of Introducing/ Strengthening Participatory M&E in FIVDB in 2011. He served as a Technical Advisor for many donors’ funded Projects.
