Dr. Gobinda Chandra Haldar is a Biodiversity Expert. He completed his M.Sc. & B.Sc. in Fisheries from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh.Then he obtained his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Fisheries) from All Union Res. Inst. of Marine Fish. and Oceanography, Moscow, USSR
About 39 year experience in fisheries research, extension, training, planning, development programs implementation, monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management in the areas of aquaculture, open water (inland, coastal and marine) fisheries management, wetland biodiversity conservation and related environmental issues with the Department of Fisheries (DoF), Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Center for Natural Resources Studies (CNRS) , Krishi Gobeshana Foundation (KGF), Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and other consultant organizations. He worked for 23 years with BFRI from the position of SSO to Director (Research planning).
He published 81 scientific papers and other technical reports, and popular article and received Government award for publications.
