Aminul Islam is a lecturer at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). His current researches focus on Communication in Healthcare, Social Inequality and Health, Social and Cultural Determinants of Health, Hospital Ethnography, Interplay between Medicine, Media and Market, Social Network Analysis, Cyberpsychology, and Media Psychology. He has extensively published in the field of public health communication, media studies, and journalism. He has published six book chapters, 25 articles in reputed indexed peer-reviewed international journals, 7 books (both Bangla and English), and two translated books (from English to Bangla). He has a Master's Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Rajshahi University. He also has a post-graduate diploma in journalism (New Media) from the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, India. Before joining academia, Aminul was a professional journalist at the country's leading newspaper organizations, including “The Daily Star”, “Dhaka Tribune”, the “daily sun”, and “Independent Television Ltd”.
